Bigots are not my friends

I don’t tolerate intolerance, which makes me a hypocrite, but it beats being a gay bashing hate monger. Until a few days ago, I had a list of people who had expressed interest in reading my books and telling me what they thought about them. They were very helpful with book 1, but I hadn’t heard anything at all about book 2, so I sent a message to everyone saying I wasn’t going to send any more chapters out if nobody expressed any interest in continuing to read them. Here is a response I got:

[Ankh], I wanted to let you know you are a sweet person but we are just different people. My husband, kids and I are all Christians. We believe in God and I just didn’t want to read about gay people and such. I stopped reading back when all that started. You are wonderful at writing and you have a wonderful imagination for it. I hope you keep on writing. The material you are writing just isn’t for me now. I am sorry and I hope you are doing well. We have one son graduation High School this year and going onto college. Another in 5th grade now. We stay very busy as you can imagine. Hugs and sorry again.

My first problem with this is that she didn’t tell me when she started to have issues with my awesome writing. My second problem is that she is raising her kids to be brainwashed fundie idiots like she is. She is against homosexuality because the bible forbids it, but I met her while playing Runescape, a game where people practice magic and pray to different gods. She’s not against homosexuality because she’s christian. She’s christian because she’s against homosexuality. If her husband shaves, then there can be no denying that she is a loathsome hypocrite, and I hope at least one of her kids is gay just to force her to grow some tolerance.

My third problem is that there are no references to homosexuality in book two until chapter 20, and even then it isn’t at all a major theme in the book. She’s thinking about books three and four, which contain a romance between two goddesses. Basically, my former friend is against love. That doesn’t fly with me. Good riddance to her. I wish her all the pain that her bigotry earns her in life.

  1. I’ll help you with that bigot. I’ll pray that she realises she’s a bigot and Christianity is bullshit. Praying works, right?

You ARE an awesome writer and that’s a regret of mine. That I was too busy to read more than a few pages of your book back when you were still letting me read it.

I, too, am an awesome writer. Just ask HillTop Records in Hollywood, California, U.S.A. who wants to syndicate my work on their compilation CD.

    1. I was actually considering posting chapters of book 2 here. The only reason I haven’t yet is because I’m going to rewrite book 1 once I’m finished with book 2, and I wasn’t sure if it would be a good idea to post book 2 first.

              1. “She’s not against homosexuality because she’s christian. She’s christian because she’s against homosexuality.”

I originally made that point on Signorile over a year ago, and then reiterated it to you several times in different wording. And now you’re passing it off as your own?

                    1. You may not have consciously remembered, but what I said influenced your opinion, causing you to reiterate my point as your own later down the road.

    1. Well, I don’t doubt it’s really your opinion. I just influenced it over a year ago. You don’t remember how you got to that conclusion, so I’m reminding you.

        1. I KNOW that. When I say that to you, and you tell me it’s a great point, it doesn’t matter whether you remember the conversation specifically. It’s still influenced your thought process and all the forgetting in the world won’t change that.
